Calcutta (kalkiuta or kalkʎta) (she/they) is a Neukadian, quickly recognized by her inkless, petroleum-colored hair, and scarcely expressive face. She has dark grey bangs, with pale ends. Among her curious details are her pointy dented ears, flat fingertips, shiny grey eyes, and a lack of eyebrows.
There is purpose in her menacing appearance and demeanor. Solitary since her earliest days, she has great disdain towards people, and does her best to avoid being seen. Abandoned buildings and faraway ruins are her home, and the only one she wishes for. Her upbringing is known to none but her, in part by her fault.
With plenty of time to learn, she is a proficient engineer, especially when it comes to getting her hands on anything to fiddle with. When she isn't trying to act scary, she is a giddy craftswoman, passionate in tinkering with Inkadian technology to suit her unique needs. In every rare moment she forgets her self-defined purpose, a great warmth fuels her work.
Due to Ink Starvation, Calcutta is unable to produce or make use of ink. It harms her, searing and staining her skin and tentacles. Lacking this vital component, respawn machines serve no purpose to her, and death suddenly becomes burden on the mind.
Through her capabilities, all of her gear is modified to fit this need for survival. A breathing mask, thick raincoat, and tall boots are all made more resilient and hydrophobic, to make sure any ink leaves as soon as possible.
She aims to bring about Total Immersion, an artificial event in which the world would be suffocated in eternal rains and rising seas, preventing ink from prevailing, destroying respawn machines, and undoing as much life as possible. Knowingly, this includes her.
Through her lens, Calcutta has been a spectator to conflict everywhere, how they ended, and what led from one big struggle to another. Holding no hope for this cycle to end by itself, she believes it must be unmade wholly.
The world shall know a third flooding.
